Coriander Essential Oil Buttermilk Biscuits


Looking for a fun way to use Spark Naturals Coriander Essential Oil? Look no further than these Coriander Buttermilk Biscuits!

You will need:
1 3/4 c buttermilk
1T lemon zest
3 1/2 c all-purpose flour
2 T plus 2 t baking powder
2 T sugar
1-2 drops Spark Naturals Coriander EO
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1/4 t black pepper (optional)
1 stick cold butter (preferably unsalted), diced into small pieces

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450F.

Mix the buttermilk and lemon zest together and add the Coriander EO. Combine all dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Add butter with a pastry cutter or with your hands until the texture is crumbly. Make a depression in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the buttermilk mixture. Just combine so you can handle it (do not overmix).

Roll out to 3/4" thick on floured work surface and use a biscuit cutter to form biscuits. When all dough is used, place biscuits on a parchment paper-lined sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, rotating partway through. Remove when fragrant and golden.

Enjoy warm alone, with butter from grass-fed cows, or with your favorite jam. Delicious!
