Jelly Soap For Kids

Do your kids love bath time as much as mine do? Our girls call it "swim time" and they splash like it is a pool. They love to wash themselves ever since we tried this DIY Jelly soap.

Fun Chemical Free “Jelly Soap” for Kids

2 Tbsp of unflavored gelatin
1 cup water
1/2 cup of almond {or your favorite} Castile soap
1 tsp almond extract
shallow lidded containers
*soap dyes optional {can be found at the craft store}
8-10 drops of your favorite Spark Naturals essential oil {we use Lavender, Lemon and Rosemary}

Bring the water to a boil. Mix in gelatin, Stir until completely dissolved. Add castile soap and almond extract and stir well. Add your essential oils now and keep stirring. If you are using soap dyes add them now. Stir. Pour the soap into the containers and place into freezer for about 30 minutes to solidify.

To use, scoop out the desired amount with a spoon or your fingers and lather as you would any soap! After the soap sits out over night it will get runnier {like snot!} The kids love it just as much when it is runny, but if you want to solidify it again, just pop it back into the freezer for a few minutes while you prepare their bath. It will gel up just as it was before! For best results use the soap up in a week or two. {Which won’t be hard to do!}

*Although the ingredients are harmless, I don’t recommend you eat the soap. If you use it with children under 3, you should be sure they know this is SOAP and not a snack! It took a little convincing to keep my 2 year old from tasting…but she never did.
