Wart Care with Essential Oils

Warts... not a great conversation, but a real problem. We are asked this question all the time! Here is a great article.

For common, plantar, flat, and periungal warts Oregano is the most common and effective oil to use because of its natural antiviral properties. Frankincense has also been shown to be effective at treating warts.

Mix a blend of 1 drop of both Oregano and Frankincense. Oregano is a strong oil can can irritate softer skin, such as children’s skin. We recommend adding a carrier oil such as olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil etc to dilute the Oregano oil’s potency. You can mix these oils in a small bowl. Apply the mixture with a q-tip 2 – 3 times a day directly on the wart and surrounding area for 2 – 4 weeks or until wart goes away. We recommend continuing to apply the mixture 1 week after the wart is gone to avoid the wart coming back.

For Molluscum Warts apply Oregano topically to the bottom of feet 2 – 3 times per day. The skin on the bottom of the feet usually is not as sensitive to Oregano. We suggest using a carrier oil to dilute the Oregano oil for softer skin or young children. Consider adding lavender or melaleuca essential oil to the mixture and surrounding area as well.
